Who's responsible
Hangshot and this site are made by Omar Ghzali, an individual based in Morocco. For anything about your data, email hello@hangshot.app.
The app
Hangshot runs entirely on your PC. It has no account, sends no analytics or crash reports, and never connects to the internet. Your screenshots, recordings, settings and log file stay on your PC, in folders you can open from Settings. Nothing is sent to me or anyone else. The only time anything opens online is when you click a link such as Donate or Visit website, which opens this site in your browser.
Uninstalling Hangshot removes the app. The uninstaller asks whether to keep your captures and settings.
This website
There are no cookies, analytics, ads, trackers, accounts or forms on this site, and every page and script loads from this site alone.
The site and its downloads are delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in order to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. It keeps this data only briefly, for those purposes. I don't use this data to identify or profile visitors. Cloudflare runs servers worldwide, so this data may be processed outside your country.
Download counter
When you download Hangshot from this site, a counter for that day and your country (worked out by Cloudflare from your connection) goes up by one. That's all that's recorded: no IP address, no cookie, nothing that could identify you.
Emails
If you email me, I get your email address and whatever you write, including any log file you attach. I use it only to answer you and to fix the problems you report. I don't share it or add you to any list, and I delete it when it's no longer needed for that. My email is hosted by Google (Gmail), via Cloudflare's email forwarding.
Donations
Donations are handled by the payment page you're sent to, under its own privacy policy. Your card details never reach this site or me. The payment provider tells me the name, email address and amount of each donation. I keep these as long as I'm required to for my financial records.
Your rights
You can ask me what personal data I hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to how it's used. Email hello@hangshot.app and I'll reply within 30 days. These rights come from Moroccan law (law 09-08). If you live in the EU, the UK or another region with its own data protection law, you have the rights that law gives you, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Hangshot and this site aren't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. The app itself will never start collecting data without a new version that says so clearly.
