Who I am
Hangshot and this site (hangshot.app) are made by Omar Ghzali, an individual based in Morocco. Contact: hello@hangshot.app. By using this site, you agree to these terms.
The app
The Hangshot app comes with its own license, shown in full below and inside the app under Settings, About, Licenses. In short: it's free for personal and business use, you may not sell, repackage or reverse engineer it, and it comes as is, without warranty.
Downloads
Only download Hangshot from hangshot.app. Copies from anywhere else may have been tampered with, and I'm not responsible for them. Please don't host copies yourself; link to this site instead.
Donations
Hangshot is free, and donations are optional. A donation is a voluntary gift to support the work. It doesn't buy anything: no product, service, feature, support or priority. Because of that, donations are non-refundable, except where the law says otherwise or when a payment was made by mistake or without your permission. If that happens, email me within 30 days. Monthly donations can be canceled at any time from the payment provider's page or from its receipt email. The payment provider's own terms apply to the payment.
Using this site
You may browse this site and share links to it. Please don't copy its design, text, images or video to pass them off as your own. Don't try to break, overload or misuse the site.
Feedback
If you send ideas or suggestions, I may use them to improve Hangshot without owing you anything. Thank you for them.
Names and trademarks
Hangshot and its icon belong to Omar Ghzali. Windows and Paint are trademarks of Microsoft, mentioned only because Hangshot runs on Windows and opens pictures in Paint. Hangshot isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft.
No warranty and limits of liability
This site and everything on it are provided as is. I try to keep them accurate and available, but I don't promise that they're error-free, complete or always online. To the fullest extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits or business, that comes from using this site or the app. My total liability for anything related to this site is limited to 10 US dollars. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived by agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco. If you live somewhere whose law lets you bring a claim in your own country's courts, you keep that right.
Changes
I may update these terms; the new version will be posted here with a new date. If any part can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Hangshot is made by Omar Ghzali ("I", "me"). This license is an agreement
between you and me about the Hangshot app for Windows (the "Software").
By installing or using the Software, you agree to it. If you don't agree,
don't install or use it.
1. What you may do
You may download, install and use the Software for free, on as many
devices as you like, for personal or business use.
2. What you may not do
Unless the law lets you do so regardless of this license, you may not:
a. sell, rent or lease the Software, or charge for it in any way;
b. share copies of the Software, other than pointing people to
https://hangshot.app, where it can be downloaded;
c. modify, repackage or bundle the Software, or publish a version of it
under another name;
d. reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software;
e. remove or change any copyright, trademark or license notice in it; or
f. use the Software to break the law or the rights of others.
3. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. I own the Software and all rights in
it, except the third-party parts described in section 4. This license
doesn't give you any right to the Hangshot name or logo.
4. Third-party components
The Software includes components made by others, under their own
licenses. Those licenses, not this one, apply to those components. They
are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt and in the app, under Settings,
About, Licenses.
5. Your captures and recordings
Your screenshots and recordings are yours. The Software doesn't send them,
or anything else, anywhere. You are responsible for what you capture and
share, and for having the right to capture it. Some places require
everyone's consent before you record a call or a meeting; following those
rules is up to you.
6. Updates
I may release new versions, or stop working on the Software, at any time.
I don't have to provide updates or support.
7. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF
ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. I don't
promise that the Software will work without errors or interruption, that
it will be compatible with your system, or that it will never lose data.
Keep backups of anything important.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, I AM NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT,
INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS
OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE
SOFTWARE OR THIS LICENSE, EVEN IF I WAS TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. MY TOTAL
LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT
YOU PAID FOR IT, WHICH IS ZERO, OR, IF THE LAW DOESN'T ALLOW THAT, TO
10 US DOLLARS.
9. Your rights under the law
Some places don't allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to
be limited. Where that's the case, those parts of sections 7 and 8 apply
only as far as the law allows. Nothing in this license takes away rights
you have as a consumer that can't be waived by agreement.
10. Ending this license
This license lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if you break it.
You can end it at any time by uninstalling the Software. When it ends,
you must stop using the Software and delete it. Sections 3, 7, 8, 9 and
11 still apply after it ends.
11. Governing law
This license is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco, without
regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live somewhere whose law gives you
the right to bring a claim in your own country's courts, you keep that
right.
12. Changes and the whole agreement
I may update this license for future versions of the Software; the
version that comes with a release applies to that release. This license
is the whole agreement between us about the Software. If any part of it
can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If I don't enforce a part of
it, I haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
